Hikes to Take Around Vancouver This Winter

One of the best parts about winter in Vancouver? Usually, the weather is so mild that you can comfortably go for a really great hike without worrying about getting stuck in the snow. And Vancouver’s crown jewel is its natural beauty! Keep reading for three beautiful hikes you can go on this season and, of course, don’t forget to book your stay with us here at Georgian Court Hotel. Our boutique Vancouver hotel offers a wide variety of clean and elegantly-appointed guest rooms and suites, with fantastic amenities like a whirl pool and a steam room — the perfect wind down after a day of winter hiking!

Quarry Rock

This hike is a perennial favourite. Quarry Rock is located in Deep Cove in North Vancouver and is popular year-round, but it will be less busy in the wintertime. It’s a part of the famous Baden-Powell trail, winding through temperate rainforest and ending up at a rocky cliff face that looks out onto Indian Arm.

Bunzen Lake Loop

Another local favourite year round, this hike is located in Port Moody. The trail itself loops around the lake through forest, with stretches of boardwalk, a suspension bridge, and plenty of amazing views of the lake. There is a sandy beach area, as well, which is also a great spot for picnicking — before or after your hike!

Lynn Loop

Popular amongst dog owners, this pretty trail takes you through the Lynn Headwaters Regional Park in North Vancouver. You might find some snow in the shadier areas of this five and a half kilometre hike, but otherwise it’s a nice and easy jaunt through the wilderness.
